It doesn't provide reliable results, only pain and suffering. Help ban animal testing today!

The facts are compelling enough.

Animal testing provides the scientific and commercial sectors little to no help in producing effective medicines and drugs. Yet, an estimated 100 million animals in the world are being put through often abusive testing procedures1.

The animals relegated to testing facilities sometimes bear little to no physical or genetic resemblance to the end-user humans, but they are somehow expected to produce reliable feedback on the adverse effects of various chemicals. And once they've proven useful, they're discarded like trash.

Between biomedical, aeronautic, automotive, military, agricultural, and cognitive research, animal testing for scientific purposes affects a tremendous population of the animals in the U.S., and strikingly more when consumer product testing is considered. Moreover, roughly 95 percent of these animals, including rats, mice, birds, fish, and reptiles are held outside the jurisdiction of the Animal Welfare Act, and unprotected.

Advancements in modern science have made much of the data obtained from animal testing obsolete. According to NAVS2, it's not only easier for researchers to distinguish species by their genetic patterns, it's easier to understand how ineffective and misleading test results from one may be when applied to another.

Testing, distribution, and marketing of animal tested-products throughout the European Union has been banned completely since 20133. Many other countries have adopted similar prohibitions, however the United States has yet to decide on such a measure.

The Humane Cosmetics Act was introduced in the United States in 2015, NAVS reports4, and could prohibit the sales or transportation of animal tested beauty products within the country. But we demand the government take a stronger stance against animal testing.

Sign to tell the FDA to ban all animal testing in the United States immediately.

The Petition:

To the FDA,

The continued protection animal testing facilities are granted for their often abusive operations amounts to government subsidized torture.

At least 100 million animals are being put through tests for cosmetic products, scientific research, military, medical, aeronautic, and agricultural ends in this country, to be discarded like trash once they've proven their usefulness. And the data gleaned from such testing is hardly useful. An estimated 92 percent of animal-tested pharmaceuticals fail to meet even the basic human standards.

It's time this needless killing is ended once and for all.

Testing, distribution, and marketing of animal tested-products throughout the European Union has been banned completely since 2013. Many other countries have adopted similar prohibitions, however the United States has yet to decide on such a measure.

The Humane Cosmetics Act could prohibit the sales or transportation of animal tested beauty products within the country. But the people of the world are asking the government take a stronger stance against animal testing.

Take action and defend these unprotected animals. I demand you ban all animal testing within the United States immediately.

Sincerely,
